Thousands of users on X speculated that Harris had been drinking based on the way she appeared while making the remarks.

David Plouffe, a senior adviser to Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a>&#8216; failed White House campaign, suggested their internal data did not match public polls that showed Harris ahead of now-President-elect <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a>.
The observation was made in a post-mortem discussion with several leading Harris campaign staffers about &#8220;what went wrong&#8221; for them in the 2024 presidential election on the latest episode of the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZOpWp02WVs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;Pod Save America&#8221; podcast</a>.
&#8220;I think it surprised people,&#8221; Plouffe said, &#8220;because there was these public polls that came out in late September, early October, showing us with leads that we never saw &#8230; it was just basically a race that in the battlegrounds was 46-47, 47-48.&#8221;

Harris entered the race in July, shortly after President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> dropped out under pressure from allies concerned about his mental capacity, age, and electability following a fumbling debate performance against Trump.
Plouffe said that the &#8220;Biden-Trump 1.0&#8221; match-up was &#8220;obviously pretty catastrophic in terms of where the race stood,&#8221; but he contended Harris was &#8220;able to climb out&#8221; from behind and make it a &#8220;margin-of-error race.&#8221;
As <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/trump-vs-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shown</a> in the RealClearPolitics national poll average chart, Harris boasted a 2-point advantage from late September until early October. During the same period, Harris built a small <a href="https://www.realclearpolling.com/betting-odds/2024/president" target="_blank" rel="noopener">betting odds</a> lead before Trump caught up and ran away with it.
The Harris team&#8217;s &#8220;internal analytics&#8221; showed &#8220;47-47&#8221; in Wisconsin and &#8220;48-47 Trump&#8221; in Pennsylvania, recalled Plouffe, who noted they hoped to win over undecided voters and &#8220;get a little benefit from turnout, which we weren&#8217;t able to do.&#8221;
Plouffe, who managed Barack Obama&#8217;s successful 2008 White House bid and later become a senior advisor to the president, summarized the Harris team&#8217;s stance come Election Day as: &#8220;We were hopeful. I don’t know how optimistic we were.&#8221;

Trump ended up winning all the battleground states, including Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, while <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trumps-cabinet-picks-are-so-ideologically-diverse-it-makes-cnns-scott-jennings-feel-squeamish" target="_blank" rel="noopener">making gains</a> among working-class voters, minority groups, and young people. He also appears to have prevailed in the popular vote.
&#8220;I think the political atmosphere, the desire for change, all those fundamentals that you&#8217;ve spent a lot of time talking about really presented huge challenges for us.&#8221; Plouffe said. &#8220;So &#8230; we got there, but we didn&#8217;t get the breaks we needed.&#8221;

The Washington Free Beacon’s Chuck Ross reported on Tuesday that the Harris campaign shelled out two six-figure donations — $250,000 on September 5 and another $250,000 on October 1 — to Sharpton’s National Action Network. Just two days after the second donation went through, Sharpton aired a video of Harris wishing him a happy birthday — and on October 20, MSNBC aired a very friendly interview of Harris conducted by Sharpton.

According to Ross’ reporting, neither Harris nor Sharpton told MSNBC that the donations had been made.
Harris has faced scrutiny over finances since the campaign ended with her team over $20 million in debt even after raising well over $1 billion in just three months. Payments to celebrities for concerts and appearances at rallies have been questioned, including over $1 million paid to former talk show host Oprah Winfrey’s production team and a six-figure rebuild of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast set so that she could give the interview from Washington, D.C.

Other major expenditures included hundreds of thousands for private air travel, along with six-figure donations to minority groups with whom she was struggling to make headway.
According to the Free Beacon’s report:

Vote to Live Action Fund, which received $275,000 from the Harris campaign, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/harris-supporting-group-launches-4m-effort-mobilize-black-male-voters-rcna174414" target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> a $4 million initiative in October to pressure black men to vote. Harris spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on an initiative to appeal to black church voters. Two of the organizations, Black Church PAC and the Institute of Church Administration and Management ($250,000), are linked to Frederick Haynes, <a href="https://freebeacon.com/elections/kamalas-criminal-justice-reform-comrade-accused-israel-and-america-of-apartheid-in-fiery-sermon-after-hamas-attack/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an anti-Israel pastor</a> who has worked with Harris for years on liberal causes.</blockquote>
Despite the lingering questions surrounding the Harris campaign’s spending habits, the VP has reportedly suggested that she would be open to running again in 2028 — either for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination or for governor of her home state of California.

Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a> held a livestream to thank her supporters and grassroots volunteers, but their comments indicate that she left them feeling even more defeated and despondent than they were before they joined the call.
Harris held a joint event with her running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz today, telling her supporters that she is “proud of the race we ran,” and that “we still have a lot to fight for.” The Harris voters on the call, however, found themself underwhelmed, deflated, and in some cases, upset by the failed candidate’s remarks.

“Feeling even more defeated,” one supporter on the call said as Harris’ speech came to a close. “That was such a waste, why did they even call this?” another added. “Trump&#8217;s about to be a dictator. And our voices won&#8217;t matter,” another Harris supporter said after her speech concluded.

“You could have saved my hope and sent a thank you text. Geez, you people beg me for my time, my money, my hope,” one of the most scathing comments read. “I am gobsmacked at the thoughtlessness, but I shouldn’t be so naive.”
The purpose of Harris’ speech, which did not include a fundraising pitch and recycled much of the same message from Democrat’s concession speech, was not readily apparent to many of her supporters.

Harris vaguely stated that their movement was not over, but did not provide her supporters with any potential ways they could help or issue any calls to action, instead thanking her supporters who donated and &#8220;called in favors.&#8221;
&#8220;You called in favors, you said, &#8216;Hey, I showed up at your softball game, now I need you to show up at the campaign office,'&#8221; Harris said at one point during her speech.
The announcement of Harris’ speech, which lasted just ten minutes, apparently got certain supporters’ hopes up, however.
One commenter suggested that the failed candidate was using coded language and that Trump would actually be prevented from taking office somehow and that Harris had a trick up her sleeve that she could not yet reveal. “‘Outcome of this election is not what we wanted’ &#8211; notice she didn’t say ‘we lost’ &#8211; WE GET IT &#8211;  you can’t show your hand. That felon is going down.”
“Kamala I absolutely still see you taking office on 1/20,” one comment read, while another said in all caps, “WE CAN’T HAVE ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF TRUMP!!! TAKE HIM DOWN NOW!!!!!”
Numerous other Harris supporters called for a recount in the swing states, and some accused Trump of cheating with the help of Elon Musk.

Top staffers from Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a>&#8216; failed White House bid disclosed how their subtle efforts to differentiate Harris from her boss, President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a>, during the 2024 campaign were &#8220;never going to satisfy anybody&#8221; because voters wanted change.
In a post-mortem discussion on the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZOpWp02WVs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;Pod Save America&#8221; podcast</a>, host Dan Pfeiffer, who was a senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, asked whether Harris could or should have done more to &#8220;distance herself&#8221; from the &#8220;unpopular, incumbent president.&#8221;
Pfeiffer noted how Harris appeared &#8220;personally uncomfortable&#8221; with the situation, &#8220;as evidenced&#8221; by an interview on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View&#8221; in which the VP <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-view-tees-kamala-up-to-explain-how-shell-be-different-from-biden-and-she-still-fails" target="_blank" rel="noopener">failed to provide a substantive answer</a> when pressed on how she would set herself apart from the Biden presidency.
Jen O&#8217;Malley Dillon, who made the jump from chairing Biden&#8217;s re-election campaign to leading Harris&#8217; campaign after Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-drops-out-of-presidential-race" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dropped out</a> in July, argued that voters did not know Harris very well and Harris&#8217; team only had a 107-day campaign to share the VP&#8217;s story.
&#8220;I do think that we really focused, from the get-go, on how she was different than everyone else — different than Joe Biden, different than [President-elect] Donald Trump,&#8221; O&#8217;Malley Dillon said before claiming that &#8220;at the end of the day, the choice was her versus Donald Trump.&#8221;
Harris &#8220;put her own stamp&#8221; on issues &#8220;in a deeper what than I think probably we got the kind of full breadth of coverage on it,&#8221; O&#8217;Malley Dillon said, adding the VP was part of the &#8220;progress&#8221; made under Biden and &#8220;it&#8217;s complicated when you&#8217;re asked questions in certain ways.&#8221;
Stephanie Cutter, a former Obama aide who became senior adviser for strategy messaging for Harris, said the campaign got the &#8220;Biden question&#8221; all the time, but they had to grapple with how Harris &#8220;felt that she was part of&#8221; the administration and had &#8220;tremendous loyalty&#8221; to Biden.

Instead, they focused on Harris being from a &#8220;different generation&#8221; and building &#8220;most of&#8221; her career outside of Washington, she added.
Cutter explained the Harris team sought to &#8220;tell a story and give the impression that she was different without pointing to a specific issue,&#8221; but ultimately the data showed &#8220;too many people thought&#8221; Harris would be a &#8220;continuation — which on the economy was the incumbent killer.&#8221;

Fresh off losing the 2024 White House race to President-elect <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a>, Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a> is already getting the word out that she is not discounting another run for office, according to a new report.
POLITICO <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/11/25/kamala-harris-advisers-options-open-00191393" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Monday that Harris has privately conveyed to advisers and others to &#8220;keep her options open,&#8221; including for a potential 2026 campaign for governor in her home state of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/california" target="_blank" rel="noopener">California</a> or a presidential run in 2028.
&#8220;I am staying in the fight,&#8221; Harris has declared in phone calls, per the report.
Harris, a former California attorney general and U.S. senator, replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party&#8217;s nominee in the 2024 race for the White House after he dropped out earlier this year following a fumbling debate performance against Trump.
Trump ended up defeating Harris, coming out on top in all the battleground states and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trumps-cabinet-picks-are-so-ideologically-diverse-it-makes-cnns-scott-jennings-feel-squeamish" target="_blank" rel="noopener">making gains</a> among working-class voters, minority groups, and young people.

Citing insider sources, <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/11/25/kamala-harris-advisers-options-open-00191393">POLITICO</a> noted that Harris will head back to Washington, D.C., and is expected to explore &#8220;possible paths forward&#8221; with family members over the winter holiday season.
&#8220;She doesn’t have to decide if she wants to run for something again in the next six months,&#8221; one former Harris campaign aide told the outlet. &#8220;The natural thing to do would be to set up some type of entity that would give her the opportunity to travel and give speeches and preserve her political relationships.&#8221;
If Harris were to campaign for governor of California in 2026, she would be competing to replace <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gavin-newsom" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gavin Newsom</a>, a fellow Democrat who is term-limited and is seen as yet another potential candidate for president in the 2028 contest.

Pro-life prisoners across the United States are eagerly awaiting the inauguration of Donald Trump, the future president, who has promised to investigate whether President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration &#8220;unjustly&#8221; persecuted pro-life activists, and to &#8220;get them out of the gulags and back to their families where they belong.&#8221;
In the meantime, these activists are experiencing the grim realities of prison life. William Goodman is imprisoned in Danbury, Connecticut&#8217;s Federal Correctional Institution, where the Justice Department&#8217;s Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act charges landed him for engaging in a &#8220;conspiracy to blockade [a] reproductive health care clinic to prevent it from providing and patients from receiving, reproductive health services.&#8221;
Goodman had participated in what he and his fellow pro-life activists describe as a &#8220;rescue,&#8221; wherein they attempted to stop women from aborting their unborn babies by blocking the entrance to a Washington, D.C., abortion clinic in 2020. As a response to the 2022 overturn of Roe v. Wade, the Justice Department sought out instances in which they could enforce the FACE Act — and Goodman was one of those who was targeted.
He&#8217;s currently serving a 27-month sentence in FCI Danbury, with a projected release date of July 2025.
Earlier this month, Goodman contacted The Daily Wire to share that he had spent the night in the emergency room. He had fallen out of the top bunk in his cell, which stands over 5 feet high without guard rails along the side, he shared — such a dramatic fall that one of his fellow inmates reportedly thought he had died. He said he was taken by ambulance to the emergency room, where he underwent CT scans and an MRI.
&#8220;When I fell, I landed on the top of my head with all of my force,&#8221; he wrote. &#8220;The loud noise woke up other men near by. I cracked my head open and lost a lot of blood. I knocked myself unconscious. But woke up on/off a couple times.&#8221;

Doctors reportedly told him he had minor skull fractures but no serious spinal injury. He had hoped he would be kept overnight, believing he had a severe concussion, but was sent back to the prison that evening.
&#8220;It has been chaotic and very uncomfortable here,&#8221; he wrote. &#8220;I suffer with severe dizziness and nausea, feeling sleepy but never able to sleep, I am having some flashbacks and my head is sore.&#8221;
He expressed gratitude to his fellow prisoners, including some men imprisoned for actions related to the January 6 Capitol riot, for taking care of him, saying that they helped move some of his things and picked up food for him since he was too dizzy to walk around and go to the &#8220;chow hall.&#8221; But for days, Goodman has been in bed with severe concussion symptoms.
He writes that he&#8217;s only been given Tylenol and anti-nausea medication, and worries that the prison should install guard rails on the bunks, &#8220;especially for geezers like me who have occasional vertigo.&#8221;
&#8220;Right now I could be worse,&#8221; he said in a message last week. &#8220;I just feel dizzy and abandoned and sore and sick. But it could be worse&#8230;mostly I stay in bed and drink water and take meds and try to sleep. But I can&#8217;t sleep. It is like a cruel torture. My left side of my head is like a constant migraine that seems to bang all night. Plus the loud prison noise and bright lights add to the turmoil. And the uncomfortable beds and no pillow&#8230;&#8221;
FCI Danbury declined to comment on Goodman&#8217;s condition to The Daily Wire. The prison has previously been referenced in the news when it housed Steven Bannon, who was released in late October ahead of the election, as well as several Jan. 6 prisoners. Bannon was imprisoned for contempt of Congress and for refusing to comply with the Jan. 6 House Committee, and his allies argue that the weaponized Biden Justice Department <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/former-trump-aide-steve-bannon-released-from-prison-1-week-before-election-day">pursued his imprisonment</a> out of political motivations.
Goodman has previously expressed thankfulness that he is able to speak to his fellow prisoners about the importance of protecting the unborn.
“Most cannot believe that we are in prison for defending innocent babies!” Goodman told The Daily Wire before the election, describing his fellow prisoners. “They think it’s crazy the federal government has come after us with such hostility&#8230;Many of the fellas have expressed their sadness over their wives or girlfriends killing their babies by abortion. Their stories are heartbreaking to hear.”
Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/defend-our-country-imprisoned-pro-life-activists-urge-americans-to-vote-against-kamala">has promised</a> to look into these cases of pro-life activists targeted by the Biden administration and to free those &#8220;unjustly victimized.&#8221;
“Paulette is one of many peaceful pro-lifers who Joe Biden has rounded up, sometimes with SWAT teams, and thrown them in jail,” Trump <a href="https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/258089/trump-condemns-biden-doj-for-targeting-of-catholics-and-pro-life-activists">said in June</a> as he spoke at the Faith and Freedom Coalition, referring to 75-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-doj-sends-75-year-old-woman-to-prison-for-2-years-for-violating-face-act">pro-life activist Paulette Harlow</a>.
“Many people are in jail over this. … We’re going to get that taken care of immediately — [on the] first day,&#8221; he added, promising to “rapidly review the cases of every political prisoner who’s unjustly victimized by the Biden regime, including Paulette, so we can get them out of the gulags and back to their families where they belong.”
There are currently 11 pro-life activists imprisoned by the Biden Justice Department: Lauren Handy is serving a 57-month sentence in Tallahassee FCI, Herb Geraghty is serving a 27-month sentence in FDC Philadelphia, Heather Idoni will serve 24 months, and maybe more, from the Sanilac County Sheriff&#8217;s jail, Jean Marshal is serving 24 months in FCI Danbury with Goodman, Joan Bell is serving 27 months in FDC Philadelphia, Jonathan Darnel is serving 34 months in FCI Thomson, John Hinshaw is serving 21 months in FMC Devens, Calvin Zastrow is serving six months in in FCI Thomson, and Bevelyn Williams is serving 41 months in FCI Aliceville.
Steven LeFamine just finished serving 60 days in FCI Williamsburg, and Paulette Harlow, Coleman Boyd, Chester Gallagher, Paul Place, James Zastrow, Eva Zastrow, Dennis Green, and Paul Vaughn are all serving home detention sentences.
Pro-life activists Eva Edl, Justin Phillips, and Joel Curry are awaiting sentencing.
On November 21, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/federal-judge-pauses-case-against-pro-lifers-until-trump-takes-office-new-sheriff-in-town">The Daily Wire reported</a>, that a federal judge paused the Justice Department&#8217;s case against seven of these pro-life activists related to their peaceful protest at an abortion clinic in Michigan: Edl, Gallagher, Idoni, Joel Curry, Justin Phillips, Cal Zastrow, and Eva Zastrow.
The judge, an Obama appointee, paused the case until Trump takes office, saying: “As further discussed on the record, the Court will conduct another status conference during the week of March 24, 2025, to receive a report from the Government trial team as to whether there has been any change in the Government’s position with respect to the continuation of this case and/or with respect to the positions expected to be advanced by the Defendants in their post-trial motions.&#8221;
Thomas More Society attorney Steve Crampton, who has represented many of the pro-lifers, previously told The Daily Wire that Leitman decided to stay the proceedings “in light of the election results and the likelihood that a new Department of Justice would alter its policies concerning prosecution of these FACE cases and in particular the use of the Conspiracy Against Rights statute against these defendants.”

After singer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/katy-perry">Katy Perry</a> appeared to compare President-elect Donald Trump’s victory to the dystopian satirical “Idiocracy” movie, she got torched with comparisons of the film to President Joe Biden’s presidency.
“Just watch ‘Idiocracy’ the movie that’s all,” the 40-year-old pop star wrote in a post <a href="https://x.com/katyperry/status/1859453219719832035">on X</a> that’s since gone viral. While her post doesn’t name Trump or his possible incoming cabinet, followers on social media assumed the comment was an attack on the president-elect’s presidency.
“It reminds me of the last 4 years,” vocal Pennsylvania Trump supporter <a href="https://x.com/ScottPresler/status/1859712169136492581">Scott Presler</a> wrote in response. “I voted for Trump in Pennsylvania.”

Democrats still seem quite troubled about what went wrong in the 2024 election. They keep offering various reasons for the loss. Their reasons range from the failure of the meritocracy, according to David Brooks, to the utter disconnect of the American people involving racism, sexism, bigotry, and homophobia — all of it.
Well, the latest explanation comes courtesy of Kamala Harris&#8217; advisers. According to <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/11/20/why-harris-lost-democrats-lessons/">The Washington Post:</a>
<blockquote>Senior officials with Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign say her defeat stemmed primarily from dissatisfaction among voters about the overall direction of the country and discontent over inflation and the economy, arguing that those headwinds proved too strong for Harris to overcome in her sprint to Election Day.</blockquote>
This is a very convenient explanation for Democrats, because it means they don&#8217;t have to change anything. All of this feels like whistling past the political graveyard. It is a refusal to deal with the underlying factors that led to the Democrats getting shellacked across the country.
Well, now we’re getting this same sort of sense from the so-called “resistance.” There&#8217;s a lengthy article in <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/20/us/trump-womens-march-protests-activism.html?searchResultPosition=3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a> discussing Trump&#8217;s resistance encountering fatigue. It turns out that all of the ladies who protested during the first Trump administration are a little frustrated because they&#8217;re not quite sure what to do.
According to The New York Times:
<blockquote>The first Trump presidency spawned the largest protests the country had seen in half a century.
But not everyone wants to participate in another four years of mass movement work. When Women’s March shared information about an upcoming rally on Instagram, one person responded, “No im tired, yall have fun though.” (Women’s March later hid some of the pushback and limited who could respond to a handful of posts.)
On TikTok, plans for the march were met with memes of women saying, “Get somebody else to do it.” “This is an opportunity for a national brunch day for the 93 percent,” said one user, referring to the 93 percent of Black women who exit polls suggested had voted for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Others questioned whether the previous protests had resulted in substantial concessions.</blockquote>
So they&#8217;re realizing that their protest movements have accomplished nothing. But what they refuse to recognize is the reason why those protest movements are accomplishing nothing.
Maybe it&#8217;s because there was at least the patina of legitimacy to many of the causes people were protesting back in the 1960s and 1980s.
And now, as it turns out, the causes they&#8217;re backing are just bad.

And this brings us to the controversy of the day.
Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) has now sponsored a resolution on the floor of the House that is going to be implemented. It suggests that women should be able to use their bathrooms without men with penises in those same bathrooms. 
This seems perfectly legitimate. In fact, this is relatively non-controversial in the regular world. And these transgender bathroom rules are perfectly obvious. There&#8217;s nothing particularly shocking about them. A man should use the men&#8217;s bathroom and a woman should use the women&#8217;s bathroom. Apparently, according to the Left, this is very bad. How dare Nancy Mace. How dare she? 
Mace appeared on Scripps News and during the interview the anchor kept insisting to Mace that she was barring a woman from using the bathrooms, to which Mace responded, “No.” Sarah McBride is a dude whose name was Tim McBride and still has all of the male appendages. In her <a href="https://www.scrippsnews.com/politics/congress/rep-nancy-mace-tells-scripps-news-new-bills-would-limit-bathroom-use-for-transgender-people" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview with Scripps News</a> Mace says a true thing, but an offensively true thing:
<blockquote>Scripps: I just want to add that the congresswoman-elect does identify as a woman. I will be…
Mace: She&#8217;s not a woman. It&#8217;s a man. She was born a man. She&#8217;s a man. She is biologically a male. That is science. You guys on the Left in the mainstream media want to say, “follow the science.” Let&#8217;s follow the science. Okay. He is a man. He can wear a dress. He can call himself, his pronouns can be she or her. But he doesn&#8217;t belong in a women&#8217;s restroom, period.</blockquote>
Again, according to the polling data, most Americans agree with this. This is not a controversial proposition, but the Left can&#8217;t let go of it.
For example, Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has <a href="https://x.com/Acyn/status/1859047222895407475">suggested</a> the real problem is Mace and company, of course:
<blockquote>This is what we&#8217;re doing. This is the lesson that you&#8217;ve drawn from the election in November. This is your priority. If you want to bully a member of Congress as opposed to welcoming her to join this body so that all of us can work together.</blockquote>
The priorities are truth and protection of women. One of the most annoying things about Democratic policy on this particular proposition is that they do something totally abnormal and out of the boundaries of decent human behavior — then, they question when people bring it up.
For his part, Speaker Johnson has put out a <a href="https://mikejohnson.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=1484">statement</a> saying,
<blockquote>All single sex facilities in the Capitol and House office buildings such as restrooms, changing rooms and locker rooms are reserved for individuals of that biological sex.</blockquote>
It&#8217;s also important to note each member’s office has its own private restroom. Unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol. Women deserve women&#8217;s only spaces. Again, perfectly reasonable. There are alternative solutions. 
Despite many of his heterodox positions with his party, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) is still a progressive. He <a href="https://x.com/SenFettermanPA/status/1859316484029259986" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a> out, 
<blockquote>There’s no job I’m afraid to lose if it requires me to degrade anyone. If that’s a defining issue for a voter, there will be a different candidate. We have a bathroom in my office that anybody is welcome to use, including Representative-elect Sarah McBride.</blockquote>
I&#8217;m glad that you want Sarah McBride to use your bathroom. That&#8217;s your choice, senator. Also, you don&#8217;t get to decide whether women ought to have men in their bathroom.

Why does all this matter? Because the reason Democrats lost is the cultural disconnect that the people on the coasts and the Democratic elite have with the rest of America. These are noncontroversial propositions that are made controversial by the Democratic Party.
That is what is happening. And these are belief systems that are held so deeply that even the most elite people in the Democratic Party — people who face no discrimination in America — are now treating the election of Donald Trump and the restoration of some form of normality as a grave threat to them.

Radio host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/charlamagne-tha-god-questions-whether-dems-lied-about-trump-threat">Charlamagne tha God</a> said New York officials should just throw out their case against President-elect Donald Trump because he won the election.
During his radio show “<a href="https://dailycaller.com/2024/11/20/who-are-we-fooling-charlamagne-urges-new-york-to-throw-trumps-whole-case-away/">The Breakfast Club</a>” on Tuesday, the host talked about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-sentencing-in-hush-money-case-indefinitely-adjourned">New York Justice Juan Merchan&#8217;s</a> upcoming decision on the Trump hush money case, and said the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg should just end the case against the president-elect, after Bragg asked Merchan to postpone it until 2029.
“New York City, just throw the whole thing away, alright? Cut it out. Who are we fooling?” the radio host said. “Who are we fooling?”
“Nothing’s going to happen to Trump, and nobody wants that retribution that he may deliver hanging over their head,” he added. “Just — he won the election. It is what it is. Cut ties, sever your losses, throw the whole case away. Come on. Who are we fooling, y’all? Who are you fooling, like seriously?”
“And if you push it back for four years, that might give him more reason to stay, okay?” the host continued, while laughing.
Trump’s legal team has also argued that the case against the president-elect should be dismissed. Bragg’s team of prosecutors has said that some action should be taken after Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records in May, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-sentencing-in-hush-money-case-indefinitely-adjourned">reported</a>.

He started his rant by congratulating President-elect Donald Trump on his election victory and wishing him success for his upcoming term in office.
&#8220;I just want to say this to the Democrats, which I&#8217;m an independent who voted Democratic, do me this favor: Shut the f*** up!&#8221; he said.
&#8220;When you win, you get to say what you want to,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;When you lose, you need to shut the hell up.&#8221;

During a Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee briefing with Dem candidates who won their election, the soon-to-be senator from Michigan didn’t mince words when talking about why the party lost the White House.
“I personally think that identity politics needs to go the way of the dodo,” Slotkin said, per David Weigel in a post on <a href="https://x.com/daveweigel/status/1858926010806251801">X</a>. She also said that the party should take language “not from the faculty lounge, but the assembly line.”

The comments were similar to ones the incoming senator made during her appearance on MSNBC when asked about the party’s recent defeat.
“Any party — and I can only represent the Democratic Party — needs to focus on the things that keep people up at night. That’s their pocketbooks and their kids,” <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6364859915112">Slotkin said</a>. “There are a lot of issues out there. But you’ve got to start with what keeps people awake, and that is kitchen-table issues, economics.”

“We gotta stay away … we don&#8217;t need to obsess about identity politics,” she added. “And by the way, this last election demonstrated very clearly that they don’t stand up.”
Despite Slotkin’s comments about “identity politics,” she voted multiple times against keeping men out of women’s restrooms and locker rooms, the <a href="https://www.detroitnews.com/story/opinion/columnists/kaitlyn-buss/2024/10/17/buss-slotkin-voted-against-protecting-women-in-sports-and-recreation/75715383007/">Detroit News</a> noted.
In May 2019, during her first term in Congress, Slotkin voted for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/equality-act">Equality Act</a>, which would, among other <a href="https://concernedwomen.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Equality-Act-HR5-2019-Summary.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">things</a>, &#8220;prohibits an individual from being denied access to a shared facility, including a restroom, a locker room, and a dressing room, that is in accordance with the individual&#8217;s gender identity.” 
It was stopped by Republicans in the Senate, then passed again in 2021, with Slotkin voting for it, the outlet noted. In April 2023, <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/734" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Slotkin</a> also voted against the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/zero-democrats-vote-for-house-bill-to-protect-womens-sports">Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,</a> which &#8220;prohibits school athletic programs from allowing individuals whose biological sex at birth was male to participate in programs that are for women or girls.&#8221;
